    Top honours in this weeks News go to Juhana Kirk for his brilliant 09:47:14 at Ironman Barcelona. Tough competition as that time earnt him 4th place amongst the flying Finns in his age group! Congratulations Juhana – well deserved rest ahead I should think? Maybe a gentle stroll around the local countryside would be a good warm down?     Weekly News 5 October 2017

    EGTC Oktoberfest 2017 started last week with an excellent Swim Smooth session led by Tom complete with purple EGTC kit wearing illustrations! One of the ideas that emerged was to start sessions through October with a mobilisation warm up - so be prepared to do this on poolside and maybe bring a pair of shorts to wear over your Speedos to preserve modesty and avoid embarrassment! explaining the what, how and why of this Autumn/Winter’s swim programme.     Belated congratulations this week to Val Mclaren on two PB’s and one Gold medal at the Sussex Short Course Swim Championships the other week in Bexhill and sorry for delay in reporting! More recently the behemoth that is Hever Tri took place!     Weekly News 19 September 2017

    Some very speedy TTing, the inaugural East Grinstead Park Run and some very long endurance racing to tell you about this week! The annual East Grinstead CC/East Sussex CA 25 mile TT took place a couple of Sunday’s ago on a cold and foggy morning on the Maresfield-Boship course. Ben Houston (58:45), Noel Miles (59:48) and Simon Powell (1:00:36) all placed top 30 in the Men’s event but pride of place goes to Emily McLoughlin whose 1:03:11 took 4th in the Ladies event just missing out on a podium… More....

    Weekly News 30 August 2017

    Some dates for you to put in your diaries this week! This Saturday (2nd Sep) we are back to two swim sessions; 6.30am and 7.25am. Sadly I’ll not be around for either as myself and Jackie set off on the Surrey Tops 50 mile marshal's walk at 7.00am with an expected 11.00pm finish time - long day on our feet…… Later in the month, Sunday 24th, it’s the East Grinstead 10k race.     Weekly News 13 August 2017

    A battling 8th place in the World Open Water Champs for swim legend Val Mclaren - a water temperature of 28 degrees and sun burnt face and shoulders added to the difficulties! Val says that the single 3km lap was made more challenging for her by the first buoy being 1.2km away - slightly further than her eyes could focus!     A couple of great performances to report this week; Juhana Kirk has been showing his speed again and sent the following; Just a few lines to say I did the Ashdown Forest Triathlon recently based at Cumnor House School and organised by Hedgehogtri. Course was more or less standard distance: 600m swim, 40k bike and 7.5k run. Somehow I managed to come second in a time of 1:54.30! Very unexpected.
